Korver

Ryan and K'Dee had their baby boy this morning at 12:01. He's a freakin' stud already.

Dustin's First Christmas

I made a quilt for Kearney for Christmas. I used all of our (mostly my) retired T-shirts and pajama pants.

Here I am opening the big surprise family present...a jumperoo for Dustin!!! Who knew I'd be so excited to get presents for someone else (and I'm not being sarcastic).

Here's Dustin feeling the Christmas excitement.

Toothy

Dustin's third tooth cut through today. His first top tooth (top, left, front).

I Give Up

I just let Dustin play with his food this day...I gave-up trying to keep things clean.

My New Plan

I've been thinking. I've decided that it's better to at least stay up-to-date verbally than not to stay up-to-date at all. SOOO, I'm going to start with our last post and simply write about all of the new happenings and then, when we get a chance to finally get the pictures off of our camera and onto the computer (i.e. when we finally get a little extra spending money) I'll update the pictures too!

Wood Christmas Party

We went to the Wood Christmas Party and Dustin cried with almost everyone except with Santa. Isn't that kind of backwards?

Quilt, What Quilt

With the help of Joe and Britannia, we finally finished tying our engagement quilt. This was the quilt that was supposed to keep us busy during our ever-so-long engagement so we would stay out of trouble. Kearney picked the side with skulls on it and I had to match that. So, I picked pink plaid. We tied it with maroon yarn on the skull side so it looks like the skulls' noses are bleeding. What more is there to say?

A Good Picture of Dustin's Tooth

Dustin's first pearly-white!

First X-mas Gift

Dustin opened his first Christmas gift Today. I bet you can't guess who it was from. Of course it was Nana!

Second Tooth

Looks like Dustin gets his two front teeth for Christmas, literally. He cut his second bottom tooth today.

Tree

We got our Christmas tree. We went at night and it was snowing. I had fun.

Almost

Dustin is really starting to work on his crawling stance. He's such a stud.

Moab Winter Sun 10k

I ran in the Moab Winter Sun 10k with my dad, Tina, Celtin and the twins today! It was 16 degrees during the race. Last night, we decided to let Dustin sleep in the bed with us (in the hotel), which was the biggest mistake of our lives! Dustin slept for a little bit, but then he went crazy all night. Since I was in that boggy state between being asleep and not wanting to be awake, I could do nothing about the fact that he was punching my boob for who knows how long. Finally Kearney got up with him and tried all of his tricks, but they didn't work either until he took him for a ride in the car. I'm not really sure how much sleep we got, but who really cares...Dustin normally sleeps through the night, every night.

First Tooth

Dustin's first tooth appeared! It sounds so simple, but the precursor to this is a very fussy Dustin.

A Day from Hell

I had a pretty important class presentation today. Since we didn't have anyone to watch Dustin, Kearney decided he could watch him during his lunch break so I could attend my class. I got to class a few minutes late for the first time all semester and when I walked in, my group was walking back to their seats...I had completely missed my entire presentation. Then, come to find out later, just as Kearney was leaving the apartment to go back to work, he T-boned another truck, totalling the other guy's vehicle and smashing-in the front of his. What does this all mean?

Happy Thanksgiving

Kearney, Dustin and I celebrated Thanksgiving at Dad's. Dusting tried sweet potato casserole and mashed taters with gravy. We also took Dustin on his first official hike in an old-school hiking pack. He burrowed himself into Kearney's back and then slept the entire time. Must be nice to be a baby.

Grandpa and Dustin partaking of the delectable morsels of food.

A very cute Thanksgiving outfit from Nana.

Dustin chillin' with Uncle Celtin.

Cousins

Derek and Dustin are the best of cousins; not surprisingly, they get along quite well.

Pacifiers are Dangerous

I put Dustin down for a nap as usual, and he started to fuss, which I didn't think anything of (becuase he almost always fusses himself to sleep), but then he started to really cry. I went in his room to see what was wrong and he had an entire NUK pacifier lodged in his mouth backwards (so the end of the nipple was the only thing sticking out of his mouth). Can you believe that. I though pacifiers were baby-proof, but I thought wrong. We still give him his pacifier, especially since he's teething, but we take it out of the crib as soon as he falls asleep.

Dustin's first "words".

Bubble Blowing Contest

Dustin and I had a bubble-blowing contest one day after bathtime. I thought it was hilarious, although as you can see, Dustin had his game-face on.

Another Good Day

Dustin and Daddy having some guy time.

Dustin became quite efficient at tossing his toys off the high chair. How did I respond to this? I tied them to the chair. Ha, 1 point for Mommy!

Baby Laughing is Contageous

I love it when little kids laugh. Even if I'm in a bad mood, when I hear Dustin laugh, I can't help but smile.

Jogging Stroller and High Chair All in One Day

We borrowed this jogging stroller from one of our friends. Although I thought it was quite awkward to run with a jogging stoller, Dustin loved it.

Dustin's first time in his new high chair. This is the best high chair ever! The seat part of it has no cloth on it at all, meaning crumbs have no seams in which to collect. It adjust many, many different ways. Lastly, also in the seat is a hole, with a container attatched underneath to catch all the crumbs...this container easily slides on and off and can be dumped/rinsed in the sink! Amazing!!!

The Croup

Dustin has croup. Kearney's also sick with something. I feel great! Maybe moms really do have super powers...

Snow!

This is one of my most favorite pictures of Dustin.

Dustin and Mommy.

Orange Poop

We gave Dustin his first taste of carrots yesterday and today he surprised us with bright orange poop! He's also become a little rolling maniac these days.

Like Father, Like Son

This is how Kearney and Dustin bond...by playing video games.

I Hate Running

I did a 4.5 mile run today. I really hate running. In fact, I'd rather change poopy diapers than run.

Sunday, November 8, 2009

Dinner

I cooked a kick-ass dinner for Tyrell and JaNell. I wouldn't normally brag...but my cooking typically sucks, so I'm taking advantage of the situation.

Saturday, November 7, 2009

First Brick

Britannia and I did our first brick workout today! It included a 1,000 meter swim followed by a 3 mile run. Yehaw!

Friday, November 6, 2009

Too bad we're too big to do legxercises like Dustin.

Malaina

Angela had Malayna today. She's also stinkin' cute!

I gave Dustin his first dose of liquid vitamins today and I decided I should probably give him another month before I do that again. It was a lot like giving a little kid 10 RedBulls in a matter of a few hours. Use your imagination.

Yum

By the looks of it, we must have fed him peas.

24 Years Old

This was the extent of Kearney's Birthday, on his Birthday. We were kind of pissed at each other for some reason, but at least I made him a cake.

Our Increasingly Mobile Baby Elvis

Here's the increasingly mobile part...

...here's the baby Elvis part.

The Walk

Dustin is a huge fan of crossing his legs whenever he's sitting down. Unfortunately, this crossed-over into his "walking".

Happy Halloween

This was Dustin's very first Halloween. Nana gave him this adorable outfit. We didn't really take him trick-or-treating, but we did show him off to family and friends.

His shirt says "Baby's First Halloween."

There's Dustin with his Daddy.

He was starting to get a little tired and ornery.

Our little punkin'.

Snoring?

Sometimes Dustin fell asleep in his carseat, and for the sake of my own sanity, I would let him continue sleeping even after we got home. This time, I caught him snoring, which is way less disgustin/annoying for a baby. I'm not too sure where he inherited the snoring...

Claire

JaNell had her baby girl today. She's so stinkin' cute!

Baby Food

We started spoon-feeding Dustin actual baby food. Anyone up for some pureed squash?

Goodbye Dreadlocks

Although I loved the look of my dreadlocks, they were not only very uncomfortable (think about sleeping and pulling a T-shirt over your head with a mop attached to your noggin), but they were also time consuming and expensive. So, I just got them chopped right off. Sorry Jodi, Joe, Britannia and Kearney for all the time you spent on them. I love you guys...(I love Kearney the most)!

Campout at the Ranch

Joe, Britannia, Kearney, Dustin and I drove out to the Ranch together to meet Ryan and K'Dee. This was Dustin's first "camping" experience. We brought his pack-and-play and once he fell asleep, he was out for the night. Our tent was our little white box trailer and we were pretty comfortable; we slept on our futon.

Dreadlocks

Our freakin' awesome friend, Jodi, gave me dreadlocks! Who would have thought I'd ever get dreadlocks? Well, I obviously fooled all of you!

Triathlons, Here I Come

Today was Britannia's and my first day of triathlon training.

His First Roll

No, Dustin didn't eat a roll. He rolled over for the first time!!!

Friday, October 2, 2009

Pine Nuts

Dustin and I went pine nut gathering with Tyrell, Janell and Derek. I got to climb a couple of trees. We didn't get very many pine nuts, but it was still worth it.

This was also the day I made my first batch of homemade bread and our mixer almost started on fire. Needless to say it was broken after I got through with it.

Good Riddance to Applesauce

We finished making applesauce today. We ended up with a total of 128 quart jars (combined between Joe & Britannia and Kearney & me) of regular, blueberry, crabapple, peach , lemon, and strawberry applesauce. It is yummy.

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Applesauce

We started making and bottling applesauce today. It sure is hard work. We let Dustin try a little bit of homemade, fresh applesauce, but I think it was a little too much for him just yet.

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Raspberry Peach Cobbler

JaNell gave Dustin his first taste of REAL food - raspberry peach cobbler. He obviously loved it.

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Cereal

Dustin has started holding his bottle a little bit. We tried feeding him some cereal with a spoon...not such a good idea.

Plastic Fruit

If you get a teething toy like this, don't boil it. It's the kind of plastic that will melt...

Saturday, August 22, 2009

An Eventful Day

I was going through all of Dustin's clothes (to pack the stuff that didn't fit him anymore) and found a few things that were obviously way too small. I put them on him anyway so they would get at least a minute's-worth of use.

A friend of ours gave us this sweet, old-school Johnny Jumper. I think it's one of Dustin's favorite things so far.

The Mud Bogs. From left to right: Tyrell, our friends Joseph and Britannia Howe, Kearney, and Dustin.

There's Kearney in his mud bogging truck. He would have placed if the truck hadn't gone haywire.

Monday, August 17, 2009

The Fountains

Dustin didn't like the fountains too much, but it's okay...he didn't like baths at first either.

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Skip!

Skip finally worked-up enough courage to hold Dustin...but only for a split-second.

Who's That in the Mirror?

While we were at Old Navy, Nana gave Dustin his first real mirror experience, which he thought was funny.

Dustin's being a little flirtatious.
